The Chicago Bears are rolling this season. They find themselves in a position they haven’t found themselves in in years. They’re winning tons of games and have a legitimate shot at the NFC North title.
You can look at this team and come up with many hypotheses about why we’ve seen the turnaround we’ve seen this season. Some will say a year-two leap from Caleb Williams; some will say the defense leading the way as the league's turnover leaders.
The real answer is Ben Johnson.
The Bears made the hire of the summer by bringing in one of the brightest offensive minds in the game in Ben Johnson. Since then, they’ve been reaping the rewards of that decision both on the field and in the locker room culture.

Today, against the Cleveland Browns, Johnson continued to set himself apart by becoming just the third head coach in the Chicago Bears’ history to accomplish this feat.
Ben Johnson the third Bears’ HC to win 10+ games in their first season
The Chicago fan base is, frankly, used to misery for the most part. Inept offensive units led by even more inept head coaches. All of this leading to disappointing season after disappointing season.
Now, thanks to Ben Johnson, that is no longer the case in the Windy City.
With their win against Cleveland today, the Bears officially secured 10 wins, and that placed Ben Johnson in rarified air among all-time Bears rookie head coaches.

Johnson has completely altered the chemistry of this organization, and the results are bleeding out into their on-field performance.
The Bears boast a top-three rushing attack in the league, Caleb Williams looks more and more comfortable by the week, and even when down, this Bears team is never out. Johnson has established a no-quit culture.
If this keeps up and the Bears are able to capture the NFC North title, I’m not sure how Johnson doesn’t walk away this season with the NFL COTY award.
