Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze is off to a fantastic start this 2025 NFL season. The Washington product has recorded 20 receptions for 296 receiving yards with five touchdowns.
Moreover, Odunze has become the go-to target for second-year quarterback Caleb Williams. While new head coach Ben Johnson is impacting the young signal caller, Johnson is affecting the entire offense.
Odunze will be one of the players who will be looking to elevate his game with Johnson, and so far, that is the case.
Bears WR Rome Odunze talks Ben Johnson
On the October 1 edition of the "Rich Eisen Show," Odunze appeared and was asked about the impact Johnson is having on him and the Bears' offense four weeks into the season.
"It's been great," Odunze told Eisen about Year 1 under Johnson. "I think coach Ben has been super intense with the offense and the team as a whole, just trying to take us where we need to go and being strict on those things.
"I think that sort of culture and mindset has led us to continuing to develop and get better. He's done a great job. And the wide receiver position is also one of his babies. He coached it in the past. So, he's very diligent on all the details of the offense from our standpoint. And we appreciate that."

Furthermore, Odunze stated that because Johnson is trying to establish a culture and mindset for Chicago to have now that he's in charge, he wants his players also to elevate themselves to that high standard.
"He holds everybody accountable to that standard," Odunze added. "O-linemen, [Caleb Williams], running backs, wide receivers, coaches, [and] everybody under the organization. He wants to be perfection."
The Bears will be looking to head to 3-2 and extend their winning streak to three games when they face the Washington Commanders in Week 5. Chicago started the season 0-2 and have hit their stride under their new coach.
