The Chicago Bears (9-3) are heading into a matchup that very well could be the most important game of the season in Week 14.
Chicago will be traveling to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers (8-3-1). The matchup between the top two teams in the NFC North is not only one of the oldest rivalries in the NFL, but it may also determine how the division turns out for the rest of the season.
For the Bears, injuries have been a problem in recent weeks. This pattern has continued heading into this week.
Bears waive LB Carl Jones Jr., elevate LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin ahead of game vs. Packers
Chicago will be without wide receiver Rome Odunze for the game, as the Bears' leading receiver this year discovered a stress fracture in his foot. His status moving forward is up in the air.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears have ruled out cornerback Tyrique Stevenson and linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II. Chicago is already without their leading tackler this year, Tremaine Edmonds, who is on IR with a groin injury.
While linebacker is a position that will need help, The Athletic's Kevin Fishbain said on Saturday that the Bears waived linebacker Carl Jones Jr. To make room for linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin from the practice squad.
Chicago will also be getting back linebackers Noah Sewell and T.J. Edwards.
Sewell missed the past two games with an elbow injury, and Edwards hasn't appeared in a game in over a month after having surgery on his broken hand.
