TL;DR
- Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young sustained an ankle injury in Week 11 but finished the game.
- Young's Week 12 status against the San Francisco 49ers is uncertain but he appeared to be moving well.
- More injury updates on Bryce Young will be available Thursday when the Panthers issue their report.
- Andy Dalton would start if Young is sidelined, but he is not recommended as a lineup choice.
Ahead of their Week 12 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, the Carolina Panthers are keeping an eye on an injury, as quarterback Bryce Young dealt with one in Week 11.
Young sustained what was diagnosed as an ankle injury and he was forced to leave the game twice but was ultimately able to finish — and he had a fantastic showing in the process.
However, as we know, sometimes things can get worse with an injury in the days after, so there's no guarantee he'll suit up in Week 12.
Here's the latest injury updates on Young ahead of the Monday night showdown with San Francisco.
Bryce Young: Week 12 status?
More information regarding Young's condition won't be available until the Panthers issue their initial injury report for the week, scheduled for Thursday, given that Carolina's game is on Monday night.
However, ESPN's David Newton noted on Tuesday that Young seemed to be moving around the locker room just fine.
"Bryce Young seems to be walking well around the Panthers locker room. No apparent setback from Sunday’s right ankle injury," Newton reported.
As of right now, we would expect Young to play in Week 12.
Bryce Young's backup QB
That would be good old Andy Dalton.
If Young were to be sidelined, we wouldn't recommend him as a lineup choice, given Dalton's poor performance in his sole start this year against a weak Buffalo Bills defense.
