The Carolina Panthers made a surprise addition to their injury report on Friday with wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.

McMillan was a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday but was added to the injury report on Friday with a hamstring issue and is now questionable to play.

McMillan was listed as a limited participant to close out the week, which suggests that he suffered his injury at practice. Head coach Dave Canales said McMillan's injury "popped up today," per ESPN's David Newton.

"Coach Dave Canales told reporters there is concern after the injury popped up today," Newton reported.

Of course, seeing as how McMillan is questionable, he still has a chance to play on Sunday, but typically a late-week injury and addition to the injury report is not a good sign for a player's chances of suiting up.

If he sits out, this will be the first time McMillan has missed a game in what has been a solid rookie season for the No. 8 overall pick.

McMillan has 41 receptions for 558 yards and two touchdowns over nine games, numbers that are made more impressive by the fact that Carolina's offense has struggled with consistency.

Fellow rookie Jimmy Horn Jr. Will likely see the most significant bump in playing time if McMillan is sidelined. Carolina will also be leaning more heavily on Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette.

As far as McMillan is concerned, we could get a status update on Saturday, but if not, the Panthers' final decision on the rookie will be announced on Sunday when the team drops its inactives an hour and a half before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
