The Carolina Panthers have already had some back and forth in their running back operation this season.
And now with a bit of Rico Dowdle injury concern added to the mix, things might shift again.
On Wednesday, Dowdle didn't practice with the rest of the Panthers. ESPN's David Newton reported that Dowdle was practicing "on the side."
There was no injury reported last week for Dowdle, so it's not sure what may have caused this limited participation.
Dowdle has been a revelation for the Panthers this season. After they signed him in free agency from the Dallas Cowboys to be their RB2, he broke out when Chuba Hubbard was hurt and has made the top job his own.

The 27-year old ran 25 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 9 upset of the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
He also has weeks this season in which he has run for 206 yards and for 183 yards.
All told, Dowdle is averaging an incredible 5.6 yards per carry.
Hubbard is certainly capable of carrying the load if Dowdle misses time, and there's no guarantee at all that Dowdle will even have to miss any games.
It's just a bit curious for him not to be out there with the rest of the offense on a Wednesday after not having had any known injuries.
There'll at least be some information that has to be learned about Dowdle before knowing what his Week 10 outlook really is.
