The Buffalo Bills could've had better timing on this.
But sometimes the NFL doesn't work like that. And an injury to kicker Tyler Bass has changed the Bills' plans at that specialty position with Week 1's Sunday Night Football opener looming against the Baltimore Ravens.
Baltimore will be debuting a new kicker, rookie Tyler Loop.

Tyler Bass injury update
Tyler Bass was placed on Injured Reserve on Friday.
He's out a minimum of four games before he can return.
Bass missed the Bills' first two preseason games with pelvic-area soreness.
He made it back on the field in the preseason finale in Tampa Bay, but he missed his final kick wide right from just 26 yards out.

Who is the Bills' kicker?
The Buffalo Bills' Week 1 kicker will be veteran Matt Prater.
On Thursday, the Bills signed veteran kicker Matt Prater to their practice squad, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
He'll have to be promoted to the 53-man roster for the game.
Prater, 41, has kicked 18 seasons in the NFL. He once had one of the biggest legs in the league. He has made 407 career field goals at an 83.6% clip, including 81 makes from 50 yards or beyond.
