It certainly wasn't pretty, but the Buffalo Bills managed to pull off a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in Week 13.
Buffalo's offense struggled mightily for much of the game, but luckily the Steelers weren't any better, mostly thanks to a great effort from the Bills' defense.
Ultimately, the Bills, who were led by an outstanding showing by James Cook and the rushing attack, were able to get their act together enough to score the points necessary to walk out of Acrisure Stadium with a win.
Now, let's take a look at how Buffalo's Week 13 win impacted their standing in the AFC East and conference playoff picture going into Week 14.
AFC East standings
1. New England Patriots (10-2)
2. Buffalo Bills (8-4)
3. Miami Dolphins (5-7)
4. New York Jets (3-9)
The Patriots have yet to play this week, but the Bills can't pass them this week. What Buffalo can do is move a game closer to New England.
That said, add an extra game to Buffalo's deficit, as New England (3-0) has both the head-to-head tie-breaker and division record tie-breaker over the Bills (2-2) for now.
The Bills will have an opportunity to erase that head-to-head tie-breaker next week when they take on the Pats. But first, New England has to play the New York Giants on Monday night.
AFC playoff picture
The Bills will remain in the No. 7 spot in the AFC despite their victory.
The Indianapolis Colts are one spot ahead of Buffalo and own the conference record tie-breaker over the Bills.
