The Buffalo Bills suffered a brutal home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17, as Sean McDermott's squad fell flat in a potential Super Bowl preview.
Buffalo's offense played its worst game of the season on Sunday, scoring just six points and struggling to sustain drives. The Bills didn't get on the board until the 5:11 minute mark in the fourth quarter.
With their loss to Philadelphia, Buffalo dropped to 11-5, and their hopes of winning another AFC East title are dead.
AFC East standings
1. New England Patriots (13-3)
2. Buffalo Bills (11-5)
3. Miami Dolphins (7-9)
4. New York Jets (3-13)
The New England Patriots are back on top in the AFC East. New England is guaranteed to finish with a better record than Buffalo, so there is no path for the Bills to win the division.
Missing out on the AFC East crown means Buffalo will have to go on the road in the wild-card round.
AFC playoff picture
The Bills are going to be a wild-card team. Buffalo moved down to the No. 7 seed after Sunday's loss, and no longer control their destiny to move up.
Buffalo will need the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers to lose in Week 18 in order to move back to the fifth seed. If one loses and the Bills win, Buffalo will be the sixth seed.
