If you consider a week to start on Sunday, this week started exceptionally well for the Buffalo Bills. They topped the Kansas City Chiefs in a battle of AFC heavyweights.
It got weirder on Tuesday, when the Bills didn't make a single trade before the NFL deadline despite having multiple clear needs.
On Wednesday, the news got a little worse.
James Cook sat out the Bills' practice. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Cook is dealing with both a foot and an ankle injury.
Internet sleuths tried to figure out what happened, and it's unclear, but this is what Cook's last run looked like in the Chiefs game:
Last run for James Cook. Unsure if it was this one, but he wasn't on the injury report going into the game. Ray Davis on early downs with Ty Johnson on pass downs if it lingers into Week 10.Pic.twitter.com/inluUcQJhb

RB is a spot the Bills do have solid depth in. They do a lot of rotation each week even when Cook is healthy.
Ray Davis is a powerful second-year back who runs hard through contact.
Ty Johnson is a veteran and a favorite pass target of Josh Allen.
Together, they'd likely combine to put together a solid performance on Sunday in Week 10, when the Bills play the Miami Dolphins.
Obviously, Cook still has a lot of time to heal up and be good to go against Miami. But given that this injury popped up a bit out of nowhere, it's fair for there to be some concern until proven otherwise.
