The Buffalo Bills look set to have an old friend on the field in their familiar colors for the first time in a while on Sunday.

Reports have indicated that Keon Coleman will be inactive and that, for the first time, Gabe Davis will be active this season for the Bills.

Davis is a fan favorite in Buffalo, in part because he was a monster in the playoffs during his time with the Bills.

And after being away for a bit, he's returned to Western New York (and gets a classic WNY weather day for his re-activation).

Why did Gabe Davis leave the Bills for the Jaguars?

Davis had played four seasons with the Bills and was going after a big free agent deal.

The Bills, meanwhile, were embracing an "everyone eats" mentality in their receiving corps.

So before the 2024 season, Davis signed with the Jags instead of the Bills.

Why did the Jaguars get rid of Gabriel Davis?

He had a rough 2024 campaign with the Jaguars. He played in only 10 games due to injury, and in those contests, he totaled just 20 catches.

That injury is in part why the Jags let Gabe leave and hit free agency, where the Bills eventually signed him back.

Why hasn't Gabe Davis played yet this season for Bills?

Davis wasn't fully recovered from injury when he was signed.

The Bills signed him before the season opener, but he needed time to continue to recover.

Buffalo also has a crowded WR group, so it wasn't easy for Davis to break in anyway.

Gabe Davis stats with Bills

In four seasons with the Bills, Davis had 163 catches for 2,730 yards and 27 touchdowns in the regular season.

Big Game Gabe caught at least one touchdown in three consecutive playoff games between 2022-23, including that eight catch, 201 yard, four TD bonanza against the Chiefs.
