The Buffalo Bills have an offseason ahead of them that will define the franchise one way or another. After firing head coach Sean McDermott after nine seasons that featured eight playoff wins, Buffalo is under immense pressure to get the next hire right. Additionally, general manager Brandon Beane will be under the microscope this offseason when it comes to the talent he adds to the roster, both in free agency and the NFL Draft.

It does appear, though, that at least one current Bill will be on his way out after a, frankly, disaster of a press conference held by Beane and team owner Terry Pegula. When asked about the shortcomings of wide receiver Keon Coleman, Beane was interrupted by Pegula, who blamed the pick on the coaching staff rather than defend the young receiver still on his payroll.

"The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon," Pegula said. "I'm not saying Brandon wouldn't have drafted him, but he wasn't his next choice. That was Brandon being a team player and taking advice of his coaching staff who felt strongly about the player."

This is obviously a wild thing for an owner to say about a player who is still on his payroll. One of Coleman's teammates, Brandin Cooks, stood up for him on Thursday during an appearance on Good Morning Football.

“I think Keon can play this game at a high level," Cooks said. "I really do. He’s gonna continue to grow. I think he’s also misunderstood. He’s a young kid. He’s still trying to figure it out. Obviously there’s talent there. The guy can make plays.”

Coleman's future is still up in the air, but it's hard to see him back in a Bills uniform after that debacle of a press conference, along with the fact that he was a healthy scratch for multiple games in 2025.
