The Buffalo Bills' lack of pass-catchers has been evident dating back to the start of the 2024 season. Even though they made it to the AFC Championship Game, Josh Allen never had a go-to receiver he could lean on, and that has really been an issue in 2025.
Keon Coleman has been a healthy scratch for two straight games due to behavior issues, but has been largely ineffective when on the field. Buffalo has made Khalil Shakir nothing more than a guy who catches screen passes, and they're now trying Gabe Davis in his second stint with the team, as well as Tyrell Shavers. It goes without saying that Allen needs a star on the boundary, and the Bills have an opportunity to do that in the offseason.
Per Dianna Russini, San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk are likely heading for a split in 2026.
"Fifteen months after signing a four-year, $120 million extension, Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers appear headed toward a divorce, sources tell me and Mike Silver," Russini reports on X.
Aiyuk hasn't played in 2025 due to a torn ACL he suffered last season, and there are tensions with him and the organization, as they have voided his guaranteed money. Should he be on the market again, the Bills need to make the move. We've seen how anemic this offense has become, especially in the passing game. The lack of star wideout has made Buffalo incredibly volatile, and a player the caliber of Aiyuk, who is an incredible separator and route-runner, could be the thing that helps put them over the top.
Of course, the trade deadline has passed, and Aiyuk is still not playing, so such a move would have to be in the offseason, but it's a move they should make when the time comes.
