The Buffalo Bills have reportedly found their next offensive coordinator.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bills are hiring Denver Broncos senior offensive assistant Pete Carmichael Jr. As their next offensive coordinator.
"The first big hire for Bills coach Joe Brady: Buffalo has agreed to terms with Pete Carmichael Jr. To be their offensive coordinator, per The Insiders," Rapoport wrote.
Carmichael has a connection with new Bills head coach Joe Brady from their days together with the New Orleans Saints.
Brady was with New Orleans in 2017 and 2018, serving as an offensive assistant when Carmichael was the team's offensive coordinator.
Carmichael spent the last two seasons with the Broncos as their senior offensive assistant. Prior to that, he was the Saints' offensive coordinator from 2009-23.
Carmichael won't be calling the plays in Buffalo, though, as Brady has already made it clear he will remain as the team's play-caller.
But having an experienced coach who can help carry out Brady's vision on staff will no doubt be a valuable asset for the first-time head coach.
