It's been 53 seasons since the 1972 Miami Dolphins finished 17-0 the NFL playoffs through the Super Bowl without losing a game. It's been 18 seasons since the 2007 New England Patriots went 16-0 during the regular season ahead of losing in the Super Bowl.
The 2025 Buffalo Bills are off to a 4-0 start as the strong early favorites to get to and win Super Bowl 60 after the first quarter of the season. Can they mirror some of that perfection that their AFC division rivals enjoyed long ago?
Here's looking at the rest of the Bills' schedule to speculate when and if they might lose their first game and an updated prediction for their final record after Week 18

Week 5 vs. New England Patriots
"The Drew Bledsoe Bowl"
Bledsoe went 86-85 as the starting QB for both teams combined. The Bills have flipped the script to be the dominant division force after Tom Brady, with Josh Allen now in that quarterback role. Can Mike Vrabel and Drake Maye tilt this a little back to the Patriots? Not enough at first on a Monday night in Bufalo.
Bills get to 5-0
Week 6 vs. Atlanta Falcons
"The Cornelius Bennett Bowl"
The star linebacker played for the Bills' AFC championship teams under Marv Levy and then for the Falcons between his time with the Colts. The Bills' defense can be pushed by dynamic running back Bijan Robinson, but they can counter with plenty of James Cook with Allen outplaying Michael Penix Jr.

Week 8 at Carolina Panthers
"The Brandon Beane Bowl"
The Bills used to be called the "Panthers North" because of their GM Beane and their coach Sean McDermott having worked in Carolina. There also were some comparisons on whether Allen might have a higher dual threat ceiling than fellow one-time MVP Cam Newton. Spoiler: He does. Buffalo rolls coming off its bye.
Bills get to 7-0
Week 9 vs Kansas City Chiefs
"Buffalo vs. Barbecue"
There's no bad answer when it comes to wings or pregame tailgate food with the signature meats from Buffalo and Kansas City. The Bills tend to save their worst moments vs. the Chiefs for the playoffs. At home, they get it done with Allen outplaying Patrick Mahomes.
Bills get to 8-0
Week 10 at Miami Dolphins
"The Flutie Flakes Bowl"
Jimmy Johnson, as coach of the Dolphins, once had his team stomp of box that breakfast cereal as they beat the Bills at home in a 1998 wild-card playoff game at Miami. Flutie was the most exciting Bills QB between Jim Kelly and Allen. Allen will destroy this defense for a second time.
Bills get to 9-0

Week 11 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
"The 2018 Draft Revisited"
This is a break for the Bucs and Allen, the No. 7 overall pick in '18, hosting the game Baker Mayfield, No. 1 overall pick in '18. The Bucs can slow down Cook a little but will have plenty of issues with Allen's running and spreading the ball around.
Bills get to 10-0
Week 12 at Houston Texans
"The Red, White and Blues Bowl"
There will be several shades of patriotic colors on the field for this trap game. The Texans' defense might make this interesting, but their offense doesn't have enough to outscore Allen with C.J. Stroud.
Bills get to 11-0
Week 13 at Pittsburgh Steelers
"The Mitchell Trubisky Bowl"
The Steelers will face their former backup Qb, who's now back to being the Bills' backup QB. The combination of Aaron Rodgers and T.J. Watt will put Buffalo on high upset alert with Mike Tomlin ready to match wits with his former William & Mary teammate McDermott. This is a bigger worry than the Chiefs given it's in Pittsburgh.
Bills get to 12-0

Week 14 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
"The Joe Burrow Is Back Bowl?"
The Bengals might have Burrow back this late in the season. They also might not. And if they do, they might not be that good anymore with playoff hopes fading in the inal month. Either way, the Bills have this one at home and Allen, Cook and Dalton Kincaid can destroy Cincy's defense
Bills get to 13-0
Week 15 at New England Patriots
"The Gillette Close Shave"
The Bills might have the division title wrapped up early again before this game. The Patriots might be scrapping for an AFC wild-card spot and will have learned from the first meeting in Buffalo. Drake Maye can make it more of a game in Foxborough for the rematch, but the Bills still squeak it out with more offense.
Bills get to 14-0
Week 16 at Cleveland Browns
"The Battle of Lake Erie"
Will the Bills see Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel starting? The rookie QB question for the Browns is the only interesting thing about their home game down the road, along the lake. The Bills are a much better-prepared team for Cleveland's weather than Cleveland is.
Bills get to 15-0
Week 17 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
"The Super Bowl Preview?"
The Eagles also started 4-0 but have shown more statistical flaws in a tougher overall schedule than the Bills so far. Their passing game has been limited and they're winning more close games than expected. But the Eagles' defense has more top playmakers
Bills fall to 15-1
Week 18 vs. New York Jets
"An Extra Bye Week"
At 15-1 going into Week 18, there's a good bet the Bills would have locked up home-field advantage and top seed in the AFC playoffs. That would already set a franchise high for a team that has yet to win at least 14 games in a season. Trubisky gets the start while the Jets score a meaningless road win. The Bills will be well positioned for their real goal: Getting to the Super Bowl.
Bills finish 15-2
