The Buffalo Bills have a bunch of head coach interviews scheduled.

They just completed an important one on Thursday: Brian Daboll.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that their first interview with Daboll was complete about midday Thursday.

Daboll is a familiar face with the Bills. He served as their offensive coordinator for four seasons, from 2018 through 2021.

The offense ranked 30th in points his first season and 23rd in his second season.

But then in 2020, the Bills had the second-most points in the NFL, and in 2021, they had the third-most.

Josh Allen and Daboll grew up together in a way that made the Bills major contenders.

After that 2021 season, Daboll left for the New York Giants to be their head coach.

He completed three full seasons with the Giants and then was fired after a 2-8 start to the 2025 campaign.

In total, the Giants were 20-40-1 under Daboll, with a 1-1 playoff record (in 2022).

Daboll has a lot of logic as a potential hire for Buffalo. He has head coaching experience and also a strong relationship with Allen.

The Bills have had a defensive-minded head coach, Sean McDermott, for the entirety of Allen's career.

With McDermott fired, it could make sense for the Bills to shift to an offensive mind.

Daboll fits the bill, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get a second interview as this process moves on.
