The Buffalo Bills, at 7-3, appear to be in good order for the postseason, but the AFC East might be out of their reach.

With the New England Patriots sitting pretty at 9-2 and having already beaten Buffalo, the division title might already be locked up by Week 15, when the two meet again.

But playoffs are where it's at for the Bills, and as things stand right now, Buffalo is the No. 5 seed and, it would be on the road in Pittsburgh to face the Steelers.

Either way, the Bills appear destined to go on the road in the postseason, and as CBS Sports' John Breech writes, that isn't a great spot for Buffalo to be in when looking at playoff projections.

"The computer has basically given up on the Bills (7-3)," Breech wrote. "At least when it comes to their chances of winning the AFC East. Heading into Week 12, the Bills have just a 20.7% chance of winning the division. If the Bills get stuck with the fifth seed, that could be trouble: This team hasn't won a ROAD game in the wild card round since 1981. They're also 0-8 in all road playoff games over the past 30 years."

Bills facing tough path to Super Bowl

There is a world where the Bills do claim the AFC East, but it would require a serious collapse from the Patriots, plus the Bills to nearly win out from here, meaning beating New England in their building in Week 15.

That is doable, but tough, and the smart money would be the Bills as the No. 5 seed, and while right now that has them traveling to Pittsburgh, if the Baltimore Ravens overtake the Steelers for the AFC North, then a Buffalo and Baltimore showdown in the first week of the playoffs is a real possibility.

This was supposed to be the season where the Bills finally got it done. They had the offense with MVP Josh Allen, and the defensive additions were supposed to propel the defense to new heights.

But as we enter Week 12, Buffalo's path to that elusive first Super Bowl crown appears to be a tough one.
