The Buffalo Bills are 9-4, and currently hold the No. 6 spot in the AFC wild card standings. The Los Angeles Chargers are also 9-4, but they currently hold the tiebreaker over Buffalo based on win percentage against AFC opponents.
The Bills have arguably their most important game of the season on the horizon, as they will travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots in the second of two matchups between the two teams. New England won the first tilt back in Week 5, as Stefon Diggs put up 10 catches and 146 yards. The Patriots are currently 11-2 and hold the No. 2 seed in the AFC. With a win, New England can clinch the AFC East, marking the first time that the Bills haven't won the division since 2019.
Ahead of Week 15, though, the Bills have made an addition to their practice squad, signing former Baltimore Ravens cornerback M.J. Devonshire. The University of Pittsburgh product was a free agent after being waived by the Baltimore Ravens back in August. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. He briefly spent time with the Carolina Panthers in July of 2025 before signing with the Ravens.
The Bills have had inconsistencies in the secondary this season, as Tre'Davious White has been sub-par opposite Christian Benford. Max Hairston has shown flashes of good play, but is still a rookie and has moments where he certainly looks like it. Additionally, Taron Johnson's lack of durability and inability to tackle has become very evident in 2025.
The Bills claimed veteran Darius Slay off waivers last week after he was waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the veteran failed to report. Many believe Slay was hoping to clear waivers so he could re-join the Philadelphia Eagles.
While the Bills rank second in the NFL in fewest passing yards allowed, they have struggled when facing capable quarterbacks, such as Drake Maye.
