The Buffalo Bills' need for a new weapon for Josh Allen this past offseason led them to Joshua Palmer, with the former Los Angeles Charger bringing a speed factor to Joe Brady's offense.

Already with Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman, Buffalo didn't have the speed burner to get downfield, and the answer to that was Palmer.

After a good start to life as a Bill, posting 61 and then 47 yards in his first two games, but in the last two? Palmer has barely been sighted, with one five-yard reception against the Miami Dolphins and then two catches for 25 yards in the win over the New Orleans Saints.

So, after a positive start, Palmer appears to have fallen by the wayside, but why?

“I think part of it is just the situation of the games and how they've been going,” Allen said. “It's just been a product of that. Obviously, a lot of different personnel changes that we have in our offense, forcing defenses to show us what they're going to do before they do it. That's why we have so many different types of personnel.

"I got no doubt in my mind that his time is coming, his game is coming. I'm going to keep working hard with him and trying to get on the same page and make sure that when that time does come, we'll be ready to take advantage of it.”

Joshua Palmer part of the "everybody eats" mantra in Buffalo

One of the key reasons for Buffalo's success over the past 18 months has been Brady's "everybody eats" mantra, meaning Allen simply throws to the open player, regardless of who it is, and when. Allen isn't force-feeding the ball to one player.

It might be Shakir with five receptions one week, it might be Coleman or Kincaid the next, or it might be a run-heavy game from James Cook. Either way, everyone is happy for each other's success, and that is what makes Buffalo dangerous.

Defenses have to account for everyone because you don't know where the ball is going, and it is due to that that we think Palmer will get his time in the sun eventually, because the beauty of Buffalo's offense is that everyone does. It's just not a weekly thing.
