The Seattle Seahawks are sitting with a 3-2 record through five games, so the team isn't expected to be a seller at the trade deadline next month.
However, there appears to be one player the Seahawks might be willing to part ways with and that is cornerback Riq Woolen, who was recently named in a trade rumor by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
On the back of that trade rumor, NFL Spin Zone's Sayre Bedinger named Woolen as someone who could be moved at the deadline and he pegged the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens as possible suitors.
There have been some rumors swirling about Tariq Woolen possibly being traded by the Seahawks, so we're just going to throw him on the list in case anything materializes. It would be a bit of a shocker to see a player with his history of ball production be moved, especially at his age, but you never know in the NFL.
If the Seahawks do decide to trade Woolen, they should have no shortage of suitors and teams that would probably love to take a shot on upside.
Possible landing spots: Packers, Ravens, Bills, Chiefs
A Pro Bowler in his rookie season, Woolen has surrendered a completion rate of 55.3% and a passer rating of 72.8 during his career.
Woolen is having a down year so far with a completion rate of 66.7% and a passer rating of 111.2 when targeted, but his larger body of work is unlikely to deter cornerback-needy teams from going after Woolen if he hits the trade block.
The Bills easily make the most sense for a Woolen trade.
Tre'Davious White has been bad and there's no telling when first-round pick Maxwell Hairston is going to see the field after starting the season on injured reserve. In fact, head coach Sean McDermott won't even commit to Hairston playing at all this season.
Woolen would, at the very least, give hope for an upgrade in Buffalo, and his fifth-round draft pick salary can realistically be added to the Bills' books despite the team having very limited cap space ($2.2 million) to work with.
The Packers are another team we could see making a play for Woolen. Green Bay doesn't have as desperate a cornerback situation as Buffalo by any stretch, but the early returns from Carrington Valentine and Nate Hobbs have not been good.
Adding to that, the Packers were reportedly interested in a trade for Greg Newsome before he was shipped to the Jacksonville Jaguars, so clearly Green Bay isn't totally content with its current group.
Baltimore has dealt with injuries at cornerback and Jaire Alexander has been a total bust, so the Ravens make at least some sense. However, sitting at 1-4, it's hard to imagine the Ravens will be in a position at the deadline to make a move like this.
In Kansas City, the Chiefs could potentially look to add more insurance behind Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, the latter of whom has had issues this year.
Ultimately, we would suspect the Packers and Bills to be the biggest players for Woolen out of the four, and if we had to choose between those two, we'd say Buffalo gets it done.
