The Buffalo Bills, under the current Brandon Beane-Sean McDermott regime, almost always carry three quarterbacks on the roster.
They began this week with just two, but that was officially rectified on Wednesday morning.
The Bills announced they have signed Shane Buechele to the practice squad. It was a move that was expected, and now it's official.

Buechele spent most of this season on the Bills' practice squad.
But after the Kansas City Chiefs lost Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew to injury, they signed Buechele to their active roster to be the backup to Chris Oladokun.
In Week 18, Buechele came on in relief of Oladokun. It was his regular season NFL debut. He completed 7-of-14 passes.
The Chiefs cut Buechele on Monday, though, which was likely always the plan. They just needed him for the late-season insurance after already being eliminated from the playoffs.

And now, as logically made sense all along, Buechele is back with the Bills.
Buechele seems to be a well-respected figure in Buffalo. He was portrayed positively on Hard Knocks in the summer, and when the Bills had to decide between him and Mike White, it was Buechele they kept around.
The Bills' QB room is one that Allen has often spoken highly of. It's clear Buffalo likes having guys in there, including backup Mitchell Trubisky, who vibes well with their superstar.
Buechele fits that mold, and now he's back to help in whatever way he can as the playoffs get underway.
