Bills' Josh Allen reveals why its 'fun' to play with James Cook image

There is no denying that Josh Allen is the orchestrator of the Buffalo Bills' offense, but he's got a convenient weapon that helps him.

Running back James Cook, through 16 weeks, leads the NFL in rushing with 1,532 yards, easily the best return of his career. Cook has also rushed for 12 touchdowns since being paid this offseason, going to another level.

The biggest weapon in James' arsenal is his long runs, which often result in touchdowns.

And for Allen, what is it like to see James rip off those big runs?

"It's so fun,” Allen said. “You become a fan because there's really nothing you can do once he skirts past you a few yards because I'm not catching him, and typically the defenses aren't either. So, it's fun to hand it off, turn around, put my hands up in the air, and just watch him go to work.

"He's having a fantastic year for us, and super glad he's on our team.”

Cook close to being NFL's leading rusher

With two games left, Cook is just 43 yards ahead of second-placed Jonathan Taylor, so there is a real chance that James could end the season as the NFL rushing champ.

And you better believe that Buffalo knows it.

The centerpiece of Joe Brady's offense, Cook has been superb this season. Yes, he did have a brief fumbling issue (four in two games), but that has been corrected over the last few games.

And now, he's running full steam into what he and the Bills hope is a well-deserved rushing title.
