TL;DR

  • Josh Allen achieved a historic NFL first with at least three passing and three rushing touchdowns in two separate games.
  • Allen threw for 317 yards and three touchdowns, also rushing for three scores in the Bills' 44-32 win.
  • The Buffalo Bills' passing game showed renewed effectiveness against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • Several receivers, including Tyrell Shavers, Gabe Davis, Ty Johnson, and James Cook, contributed significantly to the passing attack.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen wasn't at his MVP best in the 44-32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Highmark Stadium, but it was historic.

Yes, you read that right.

Allen completed 19 of 30 passes for 317 yards, throwing three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also ran for three touchdowns.

A six-total-touchdown day for No. 17.

And history was made.

Allen stands alone in NFL history as the sole player with at least two games featuring both three passing and three rushing touchdowns; his other such performance occurred on December 8th versus the Los Angeles Rams.

Allen's 317 passing yards were his second-highest of the season, and it is now back-to-back 300+ yard games for the MVP, but in contrast to last week, Josh looked far better after a shaky start.

The Buccaneers' defense had trouble stopping the aerial assault, with Tyrell Shavers (90 receiving yards, one touchdown), Gabe Davis (40 receiving yards), Ty Johnson (61 receiving yards), and James Cook (66 receiving yards) all making significant contributions in the passing game.

And that's without Keon Coleman, who was a healthy scratch, and Khalil Shakir, who didn't catch any passes.

So, there's that.

Buffalo secured a necessary victory, primarily through its passing game, which, after facing significant criticism for its performance against Miami, demonstrated renewed effectiveness.
