Sunday's 44-32 win for the Buffalo Bills over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was great for a host of reasons, and perhaps none were better for Bills Mafia's soul than seeing Gabe Davis' return to the field.

Having been with the Bills for his first four seasons, Davis then moved to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024, but it didn't end up panning out, and he made his way back to Buffalo this season, signing with the practice squad a few weeks ago.

And on Sunday, he completed his return, and it was like he never left, as his and Josh Allen's chemistry was evident from the first snap.

Davis would catch three of his four targets for 40 yards in his first game of 2025, and head coach Sean McDermott loved having No. 13 back out on the field.

“It was really good," McDermott said. "Gabe's a dog, and he plays within the edge and brings a certain mentality to our offense, certain mentality to our team. That's good to have out there. Really is."

Davis the key to passing game consistency?

That is likely a bridge too far, but there's no denying Allen's confidence when he looks Davis' way, and he even had a 22-yard reception against the Buccaneers, so it isn't just short passes where Gabe excels.

Part of an offense that knows it has to perform like it did Sunday regularly, maybe the addition of Davis, and the increased snap count for Tyrell Shavers could be the deciding factor in this passing game becoming what Buffalo wants.

Either way, Sunday's game showed that this Bills team can turn it on when needed; it just has to do it more consistently.

And having Davis back in the fold will only mean good things for Allen and Buffalo moving forward.
