Bills face fascinating Frank Gore Jr. decision for playoffs vs. Jaguars image

The Buffalo Bills' running backs have stayed healthy all season.

Except heading into Wild Card Weekend and a trip to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars, the Bills may be dealing with an RB injury.

Ty Johnson didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, and he wasn't on the field during Thursday's portion of practice open to the media.

If Johnson is out, Frank Gore Jr. Would likely be active.

The Bills would still have James Cook and Ray Davis active. Johnson, though, is reliable on third downs for Buffalo, and his role would have to be filled.

It's not clear whether that would be Gore's gig, but Buffalo usually has three RBs active for games, so it'd make sense for him to fill that space.

Yes, he's the son of the NFL great Frank Gore (who also played for the Bills).

Gore Jr. Is 23 years old out of Southern Miss.

He has yet to play a snap in NFL regular season action.

Gore Jr. Has spent each of the last two summers with the Bills, and he's been on the Bills' practice squad essentially the entirety of each of the past two seasons.

He was elevated from the practice squad once in October 2024 but didn't get into the game.

Gore Jr. Has been a fan favorite in the preseason. Maybe his chance is coming at a time he never would've expected.
