The Bills' potential decision to cut Keon Coleman would serve as the most severe possible warning.

Bills cutting Keon Coleman would send the sternest warning message possible image

TL;DR

  • Buffalo Bills could cut Keon Coleman to send a strong message.
  • Coleman is sidelined due to tardiness, despite being fit.
  • Former scout Jim Monos advocates for cutting Coleman immediately.
  • Bills offense performed well without Coleman against Tampa Bay.

The Buffalo Bills have a chance to send a stern warning to anyone paying attention.

They could, if they wanted, cut Keon Coleman.

As of now, that hasn't occurred. Coleman is currently sidelined despite being fit, reportedly due to tardiness for team gatherings.

The second-year WR may still have a future role in Buffalo.

But there are advocates out there for just getting rid of Coleman now.

Former college Jim Monos joined the Go Long show with Tyler Dunne and said just that.

Here's the Monos monologue on cutting Coleman:

"They could cut him. It would be one of the ultimate messages sent. It would be moving to the owner and saying, 'Hey look, we messed up.' They just had their best, that game was so sick on offense. They don't need Keon Coleman. That was against a real defense. Tampa is a big time defense. At any point in that game did you say gosh, if they had Keon Coleman, they might win this game? No. Next. That's how you send messages."

He's got quite the point.

The Bills erupted for 44 points in spite of three turnovers against the Bucs. They got production from the likes of Tyrell Shavers and Gabe Davis.

Josh Allen appeared to have no need for his young wide receiver, who has difficulty getting free from defensive backs.

It would be a difficult decision for The Bills to release Coleman. However, if he remains inactive again on Thursday night, all options become plausible.
