The 2025 NFL Pro Bowlers were revealed on Tuesday, and the Baltimore Ravens had six players earn nods, including wide receiver Zay Flowers.
Flowers has now been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons, and has established himself as one of the better receivers in the AFC. After posting 1,059 receiving yards in 2024, Flowers is on pace to surpass that mark this year, as he is already at 1,043 yards with two weeks left to go.
With Flowers earning his second Pro Bowl selection, the Boston College standout should earn some extra money, but it also puts the Ravens in a difficult spot.
Due to being a Pro Bowler once again, Flowers' fifth-year option has been raised from $24.361 million to $28.046 million. Baltimore will have to make a decision this offseason on whether they want to exercise that option and keep Flowers under contract until 2028.
If the Ravens decide to pick up Flowers' option, the 25-year-old would get paid that $28 million figure in 2027. However, Baltimore could also go down two different avenues, one being declining the option and working on signing Flowers to a long-term deal.
The other scenario would be not picking up Flowers' fifth-year and waiting to see if he can earn an extension. Though an argument can be made that the 2023 first-round pick has already earned a new deal, Flowers has had some costly fumbles over the years and isn't an irreplaceable player.
More than likely, the Ravens will exercise Flowers' option, and he will remain on the team for the foreseeable future. However, it would be wise to keep an eye on this situation heading into the offseason.
