Ravens sign former 1st-round pick after injury image

The Baltimore Ravens are dealing with a potentially costly injury. Star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike is hurting with a neck issue.

And so to add depth along the defensive line, the Ravens have made a new signing. And it's an exciting one, landing a former first-round pick from the free agent pool.

The newest Raven: Taven Bryan.

The signing was reported by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Bryan was a first-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2018 NFL Draft at No. 29 overall out of Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 291-pound DT is a native of Wyoming whose full name is Taven Coal Bryan.

Bryan spent his first four NFL seasons with the Jaguars, making 17 starts across 63 games.

In 2022, Bryan started all 16 games he played in for the Cleveland Browns.

The last two seasons, Bryan was with the Indianapolis Colts. He appeared in all 34 regular season games, starting 13.

Bryan has 154 tackles and 11.5 sacks in 113 NFL games (46 starts).

Bryan spent the summer with the Cincinnati Bengals, who signed him in July and released him in August.

This is his next chance to stick around in the NFL, now at 29 years old.

The Ravens will hope he's ready, because anytime with Madubuike isn't a good thing.
