The Baltimore Ravens came into Week 17 not controlling their own destiny and facing playoff elimination. The Ravens needed a big win over the Jordan Love-less Green Bay Packers and got it on Saturday night, winning 41-24. Star running back Derrick Henry had 216 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

The Ravens' victory was huge because it saved them from immediate playoff elimination. Baltimore isn't home free yet. The Ravens can still be eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17, and need a very specific result to stay alive in the playoff hunt into Week 18.

Here is more on how the Ravens' win against the Packers on Saturday night impacts the AFC North race and Baltimore's playoff chances.

Are Ravens out of the playoffs?

No. With the win over Green Bay, Baltimore stays alive in the playoff race for at least one more day. If the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, though, they will clinch the AFC North, and the Ravens will be eliminated. The teams would then play a meaningless (for the Ravens at least) game in Week 18.

Baltimore did its part to stay alive in the playoff race in Week 17 by beating the Packers. Unfortunately for the Ravens, they don’t currently control their own destiny.

If the Steelers beat the Browns on Sunday in Week 17, the Ravens would still be eliminated from playoff contention. If the Browns win, then the Week 18 matchup between Pittsburgh and Baltimore would be for the AFC North, with the winner locking in the No. 4 seed in the playoffs.

The win allows the Ravens to stay alive in the playoff hunt. It is worth noting that the Ravens cannot make the playoffs as a wild card team. Baltimore's only chance of making the playoffs lies in Pittsburgh losing to Cleveland on Sunday and the Ravens then beating the Steelers in Week 18.

AFC North standings

The win keeps Baltimore alive in the division hunt. The Ravens need the Steelers to lose to the Browns on Sunday in Week 17. If that happens, the Week 18 matchup between Baltimore and Pittsburgh will be for the division crown. The winner of that game would be a top-four seed in the AFC playoffs, meaning they would host a first-round playoff matchup. The loser of that Week 18 contest in that scenario would be eliminated from playoff contention.
