It appears that the Buffalo Bills didn't just defeat the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, they took all of their will away.
The Ravens are 1-5 thus far, and have suffered a long list of injuries in the process of their string of losses. Now after seven challenging and frustrating weeks, the Ravens are beginning to implode.
The Baltimore Sun released a report that featured over 20 sources inside the Ravens organization, and the takeaway from the deep dive is that the Ravens are an organization in a tailspin. One player traces the issues back to Week 1 in their epic collapse vs. The Bills.
“It was that Bills game that put a beating on us mentally where it felt like everything was ending, even though it was the first game,” one veteran player said in the report. “When we have so much time to recover, such a long season, and we let that carry over.”
This, of course, came after the Bills ended the Ravens' season in the divisional round of the 2024 season, dropping their record against Josh Allen to 0-2 in the postseason. To start the season with such a crushing defeat to an AFC powerhouse, and then following it up with a blowout loss to the Chiefs a few weeks later, is enough to take the air out of a season. Losing Lamar Jackson was the cherry on top of the disaster sundae for Baltimore.
The Ravens are now in last place in the AFC North after the Cleveland Browns defeated the Miami Dolphins. Even with Lamar Jackson returning to the lineup, it may be too little too late for Baltimore to make a push for the postseason.
