Could Lamar Jackson end up like Luka Doncic?
That is to say: Could the Baltimore Ravens' superstar quarterback get traded in a massive blockbuster deal that shakes up the whole NFL, and then better himself physically and mentally in his new home, too?
Yeah, it's a real possibility.
The Athletic's Mike Sando wrote about such a possibility in a new article on Monday.
Sando points out that the first key will come up on Sunday night. If the Ravens beat the Steelers, they'll win the AFC North Division and be in the playoffs. If they lose, their season will be over.
Jackson is coming up on a cap hit of more than $74 million in 2026. He's going to need a restructured contract, at minimum.

And coming off a bumpy season of injuries and ineffectiveness, Jackson looks more expendable than he has ever looked in his Ravens career.
Could, like the Dallas Mavericks felt with Luke Doncic, the Ravens feel that it's time for a fresh start?
"Lamar being traded could be similar to the (Dallas) Mavericks trading Luka Dončić," an anonymous agent told Sando in his new article. "The Mavericks were complaining about Luka's toughness, taking care of his body, work ethic. Luka gets moved, he loses all that weight, he gets in great shape and he's got a new lease on life. Lamar might be the same."
It doesn't seem like the Ravens would settle for less than an incredible trade package, though.
Doncic is a generational superstar, yes, but quarterback is the most important position in sports. The Ravens would be sure to extract every bit of possible value from a deal, unlike the Mavs did with the Lakers.
