The Baltimore Ravens have hired their new head coach, Jesse Minter, the Los Angeles Chargers' defensive coordinator.

With the Ravens moving on from John Harbaugh, there was a thought that the franchise could look to go for an offensive-minded head coach to pair with Lamar Jackson.

Joe Brady and Kliff Kingsbury were the two names discussed, but the Ravens landed on Minter, who did wonders with the Chargers' defense.

But is that a disservice to Lamar?

There was a chance to get a head coach who could get the most out of him as a player, and now, a new offensive coordinator will have to do that.

While Minter is a good hire, you get the sense the Ravens might have missed a golden chance to get Lamar back to being MVP Lamar in 2026.

Who will be Jackson's OC?

That is the next big question.

With Brady and Kingsbury wanting head coaching roles, if neither of them is successful, they could be gettable.

Of course, Brady could simply be promoted in Buffalo; they're doing that now with Brandon Beane.

As for Kingsbury, his work with the Washington Commanders and Jayden Daniels was lauded, and he could bring his ideas to Baltimore.

Of course, it would be a lateral move for Brady or Kingsbury, but with Minter likely overseeing the defense, the offensive coordinator hire is one the Ravens have to get right.

Because this team won't go anywhere without Jackson playing his best football.
