Baltimore Ravens receiver DeAndre Hopkins has heard a lot of chatter about him over the past couple of weeks, and even this week, with social media rife with people thinking D-Hop is near the end of his career.
But his one-handed catch against the Buffalo Bills and then his two-reception, 64-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Cleveland Browns in the 41-17 win, the veteran has shown there's still juice in the tank.
We know that it can be hard for players to stay off social media and not read the negative things said about them daily, and Hopkins perhaps got real post-game when he was asked if the social media barbs thrown at him are used as motivation.
"It doesn't motivate me at all," Hopkins said. "What motivates me is my mom being blind, my father dying when I was six months. Real things in life. That stuff is just fun and games."
Nothing truer will be spoken.
Yeah, Hopkins is under pressure to perform just like he is every week, but fans' comments shouldn't alter how he approaches each game, and going by his words, it is clear that it doesn't.

Hopkins proving he's not done...yet
Through two weeks of his 13th year, Hopkins has hauled in four receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Is that good? It seems good.
Of course, how we look at Hopkins' impact also has to be noted because he isn't going to be the 10+ reception player he was years ago, but he has shown in the opening two weeks that he can be extremely valuable in certain situations.
So, for all the washed talk, Hopkins is proving that he still has value to the Ravens' offense, and as far as those thinking he is near the end of his NFL career, he'll just keep proving you wrong.
