The Baltimore Ravens have reportedly made a significant addition to their special teams unit.
According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, the Ravens are signing safety J.T. Gray to the practice squad. Gray is one of the best special teamers in the NFL, as evidenced by his three All-Pro selections.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that Gray was drawing interest from "a number of teams," which shows how highly-coveted he was on the open market.
Zrebiec notes that Gray could have a role immediately in Baltimore.
"It wouldn't be surprising if the 29-year-old Gray factors in the Ravens game day plans sooner rather than later. Ravens lost several core special teamers in the offseason and they are always looking at solidifying that group," he wrote.
A former undrafted free agent, Gray spent seven years in New Orleans. He played over 2,000 snaps on special teams and 153 on offense in that span.
Along with his All-Pro nods, Gray has also been voted to the Pro Bowl in 2021 for his special teams work. Gray's All-Pro selections came in 2019, 2021 and 2024.
His release from the Saints was unexpected, to say the least. Now, he'll look to contribute on a Ravens team that has its eye on the Super Bowl in 2025.
