The Baltimore Ravens' defense was shaky to begin with, but now it's going to be missing one of its better players for the rest of the season.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team fears that linebacker Teddye Buchanan has suffered a torn ACL, which would obviously end his 2025 campaign.

Buchanan will undergo more tests to confirm, but that's where things stand for now.

"Sources: The belief is that Ravens LB Teddye Buchanan, the team’s second-leading tackler, tore his ACL during Sunday’s win over the Bengals. Buchanan will undergo additional testing today to confirm the injury," Schefter reported.

Buchanan suffered his injury in the first quarter and it was immediately clear that he had sustained a significant issue, as it was a non-contact injury.

"Teddye, we'll know tomorrow, but I don't think it looks good initially," head coach John Harbaugh said. "We'll have to confirm that tomorrow."

Buchanan, who had a strong first season in the NFL, finishes his rookie campaign with 93 tackles, which ranks second on the team. He also added 0.5 sacks, two QB hits, one pass defensed and one forced fumble.

Buchanan also thrived in run defense, with the rookie posting a Pro Football Focus grade of 69.8 in that area, which ranked 37th out of 88th among linebackers.

As far as Buchanan's outlook for 2026 goes, he is going to be in danger of not being ready for the start of the season, as the recovery time for a torn ACL can take nine months, which means he might not be cleared until September.

Meanwhile, the Ravens' defense loses one of its better players and that is going to seriously impact Baltimore's playoff push over the final three weeks.
