The Baltimore Ravens did this last week.
Lamar Jackson sat out Wednesday's practice with what was listed as knee soreness, then was back on the field Thursday and Friday before leading the Ravens to a Sunday win in Cleveland.
Ravens fans are hoping that's what is happening now, too.
Because again on Wednesday, Jackson isn't practicing.

He missed three games earlier in the season because of a hamstring injury, but his knee trouble last week was said to be unrelated.
And as last week proved, there's lots of time for Jackson to get up to speed for this week still.
But in a perfect world, a QB would be out there at practice all the time. It's reason for at least a bit of concern.
In Week 12, the Ravens play the lowly Jets on Sunday. New York just announced it'll be starting Tyrod Taylor at quarterback instead of Justin Fields.

Baltimore has a tricky quick turnaround coming. After they play Sunday, the Ravens play a massive divisional game on Thanksgiving night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
If anything, the Ravens would want Jackson out there against Cincy, which could be the game Joe Burrow finally returns for the Bengals.
As things stand, last week's actions suggest Jackson will be fine to face the Jets.
But his absence Wednesday does raise eyebrows at least a little bit as the rest of the week rolls onward toward Sunday.
