Kyle Pitts playing tonight status for Falcons has huge free agent contract impact image

The Atlanta Falcons' season may be more or less over.

But a guy like Kyle Pitts still has plenty to play for.

Pitts is going to be a free agent after this season. The former highly drafted tight end has never quite lived up to his rookie season.

This year, though, Pitts has moved around the field more impressively than he has since his first year in the NFL. He's trending toward a great free agent payday.

If Pitts can finish the season strong, he's got a chance to land a strong multi-year deal.

The Falcons play on Thursday Night Football in Week 15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Pitts is dinged up, but his free agent chances need him out there.

Is Kyle Pitts playing tonight?

The expectation is that Pitts will play Thursday night.

He had three limited practices and is officially listed as questionable with a knee injury.

The Falcons have been relying on Pitts heavily, with double the targets of anyone else on the roster over the past few weeks.

It's worth checking the inactive report at 6:50 p.m. ET just to be safe, but Pitts seems to be trending to play given he participated in some capacity at all three Falcons' practices this week.

If he's out there, he's a TE1 for fantasy football purposes and a main weapon in the Atlanta offense.
