The Atlanta Falcons have been linked to interest in a Super Bowl-winning head coach to fill their vacancy.
According to SNY's Connor Hughes, the Falcons are "increasingly interested" in former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.
However, Hughes adds that Harbaugh is drawing interest from "just about every team" with a vacancy, including the New York Giants, who are "all-in" on him.
"Sources: Giants are 'all-in' on John Harbaugh right now," Hughes reported. "He’s the No. 1 coach on their wish list. Just about every team has interest in him (obviously), but the other that I heard is increasingly interested is the Falcons."
While Harbaugh would be a fantastic get for the Falcons considering his wealth of experience and history of success that includes a Super Bowl, it's going to be very tough sledding to hire him.
Not only is there a ton of competition for his services, but the Giants appear to have the inside track to land Harbaugh, who reportedly has the Giants at or near the top of his list of preferred destinations.
"John Harbaugh has a high regard for the Giants job and for Jaxson Dart," The Athletic's Ian O'Connor reported. "Of the six HC openings, I believe he might have the Giants at No. 1, or damn close to it. As I wrote yesterday, I believe he hurdles Kevin Stefanski as the leader in the clubhouse."
So far, there haven't been any reports of the Falcons setting up an interview with Harbaugh, although it might not be long before that happens.
The only names linked to the Falcons thus far have been Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver and former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.
We would definitely sign off on a hire of Harbaugh, but it looks unlikely to happen.
