David Sills V is looking at one of the most notable days of his NFL career in Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season.

Due to wide receiver injuries, the Atlanta Falcons will likely rely on Sills in a big role. It's been quite the football journey for Sills to get here.

He wasn't always a wideout.

Sills was a quarterback growing up. And he was first offered a college scholarship in seventh grade.

In fact, Sills committed to the USC Trojans as a seventh-grade QB.

Given all the time that had to pass between then and college, it's no surprise Sills didn't stick with USC all the way through.

In 2014, four years after he committed, he decommitted and ended up choosing West Virginia.

He arrived in Morgantown still a QB, but it didn't take long for Sills to decide to play wide receiver instead.

He had a brief stint at El Camino College before returning to WVU. He led the country in touchdown catches in 2017, then led the Big 12 in TDs in 2018.

Sills went undrafted in 2019.

He spent time with the Buffalo Bills, then the New York Giants and Denver Broncos before joining the Falcons.

Sills has played in 26 career NFL games.

In that time, he has made 17 catches for 157 yards.

Sills is still looking for his first NFL touchdown.

An NFL team also hasn't yet called on Sills to throw a pass on a trick play. But maybe that's still to come.
