The Miami Dolphins are heading into what could be a turbulent season—especially with expectations relatively low. At some point, a major trade might be on the horizon. One name to watch closely: Tyreek Hill. Tensions reportedly still linger in the locker room from last season, and not everyone has moved on.
“It's not just with me, it's with a lot of the guys. I'm not the only one that heard that. You guys aren't the only people that heard that," Tua Tagovailoa said. "A lot of people that follow football, that follow the Miami Dolphins, that follow Tyreek that are fans of his — everyone has seen that. So, when you say something like that, you don't just come back from that with, 'Hey, my bad.' You got to work that relationship up; you've got to build everything back up again.”
If Miami decides to move on from Hill, the Atlanta Falcons could be a team to watch. One hypothetical deal involves trading Darnell Mooney and a draft pick for the Super Bowl champion.
“The Falcons don't have a timetable for wideout Darnell Mooney's return from a shoulder injury. According to head coach Raheem Morris, he's 'week to week.' If the 27-year-old wideout is healthy by the trade deadline, Atlanta can include him in the deal. The Falcons should be proactive in an approach to match their offensive firepower with that of the division-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Michael Penix Jr. on his rookie deal, Atlanta should consider acquiring Hill, who can aid in the development of its young quarterback,” Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton wrote.
Acquiring Hill would be a major move for the Falcons as they push to win the NFC South. Penix Jr. would greatly benefit from having a receiver like Hill lined up alongside Drake London—both of whom bring deep-threat potential in their own unique ways.
If Atlanta pulls off a trade for Hill, it would mark a clear end to the team’s long-running rebuild. This is the year the Falcons are expected to break through, and nothing would send that message more clearly than landing a superstar like Tyreek Hill.
