Kyler Murray injury update: Cardinals coach offers hope for QB's Week 6 status image

The Arizona Cardinals have a major question mark at the quarterback position ahead of the Week 6 game against the Indianapolis Colts thanks to Kyler Murray's foot injury.

Murray sustained the injury in the Week 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans and did not log a practice on either Wednesday or Thursday this week.

On Friday, head coach Jonathan Gannon provided some hope that the veteran signal-caller will be able to play on Sunday, although he certainly did not confirm that Murray would.

Here's what Gannon said.

UPDATE: Murray is officially listed as questionable for Week 6.

END OF UPDATE

According to Gannon, Murray will return to practice on Friday and his availability for Week 6 will be determined over the next few days.

"[Arizona Cardinals] coach Jonathan Gannon tells reporters that Kyler Murray (foot) will practice today and that his availability will be determined by the next few days," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.

Gannon did not say whether Murray would be limited or a full go, but we would guess it'll be the former given the uncertainty in the rest of Gannon's comment.

The fact that Murray is logging any semblance of practice on Friday is good news for his status for Sunday. That said, a lot can happen between now and kickoff, so there's no guarantee he's going to suit up.

If Murray can't give it a go, veteran Jacoby Brissett will take his place. Brissett briefly got into last week's game after Murray exited for a short time but he only threw one pass.
