If the Texas Longhorns don't win the national championship, and if Arch Manning does not live up to the hype, the 2025 season will ultimately go down as a failure. Manning could be really good and Texas a playoff team, but if it doesn't all come together, it will be a letdown.
Fortunately for them, they're poised to reach ultimate glory. The Athletic's Manny Navarro picked them to win the title and for Manning to win the Heisman this year. He even got very specific on how they'll go about it.
"I picked Texas to win the national championship in the first installment of my 2025 oddly specific predictions. I also said Arch Manning was going to win the Heisman," Navarro said. "After spending countless hours studying rosters, crunching numbers and listening to Paul Finebaum, I’ve decided my gut was right. We’re about to embark on Arch Madness."
Finebaum is infamously pro-Manning, even calling him the best college QB since Tim Tebow. As for Manning, Navarro is not far behind the controversial Finebaum. "Manning throws for 3,500-plus yards, runs for 700 and tallies 50 touchdowns to lead the Longhorns to a 10-2 season," he predicted.
Navarro then said that Texas will beat Georgia in the SEC Championship Game rematch and land the No. 3 seed before going on to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes (getting revenge for an opening week loss in doing so) for the title in a rematch of last year's epic semifinal that came down to a Quinn Ewers fumble.
