After falling victim to a swarm of Ohio State defenders in Texas' Week 1 loss to Ohio State, Arch Manning was in desperate need of a steadier outing. He found his rhythm in the Longhorns' Week 2 clash against San Jose State, turning the Spartans defense to ashes amid with a barrage of strikes.
Manning made magic atop the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium turf, producing four passing touchdowns in quick succession. They came in a variety of ways; some saw Manning showcase his arm strength and zip, others relied on timing and short-range accuracy.
All ended the same, though. Manning looked every bit of the Heisman hopeful many crowned him as prior to the start of the season.
With that, here's what you need to know about Manning's star showing against the Spartans on Saturday afternoon.

Manning shined in his second game of the season, producing a gaggle of highlights as Texas opened up a comfortable advantage over its opposition. The points came in bunches for Manning, who recorded four touchdowns in five passes to push the Longhorns out in front.
Saturday's outing was a stark contrast to Manning's display vs. the Buckeyes. He looked far more rushed in that affair, unable to flourish as Ohio State's vaunted defense laid waste to the Longhorns' offensive line.
Manning left his mark in the first half of Saturday's contest, though. He added another score in the second half courtesy of a 20-yard scamper. That should inspire confidence in Texas' fanbase going forward.
With that, here's a look at the game times of each of Manning's four touchdown passes. Suffice to say, when he's rolling, he's a hard player to stop.
