Texas Tech is having a strong season so far in 2025. The Red Raiders are 8-1 and second in the Big 12 standings. A win over undefeated No. 7 BYU on Saturday afternoon could bring Tech one step closer to the Big 12 title game.
One famous Tech alumnus attending the game is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes played for the Red Raiders from 2014 to 2016 and will serve as the guest picker on Saturday morning's "College GameDay", live from Lubbock, Texas.
In addition to winning three Super Bowls with the Chiefs, Mahomes has been a major supporter of Tech's football program during his NFL career. Beyond attending various Tech sporting events, he has also donated significant funds to the university's athletic programs.
