Dylan Raiola models much of what he does after Patrick Mahomes.

As far as quarterbacks go, there are few better guys to look up to than the Kansas City Chiefs' superstar.

Raiola wears the same No. 15, at times rocks a similar haircut, and has many of the same mannerisms and skillsets on the football field.

Now, Raiola has a chance to match Mahomes in another way.

Raiola plans to enter the transfer portal, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported on Monday. And there's only one destination that would align with Mahomes.

He can go to Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders were the spot that Mahomes made a name for himself in college. And now, they're on the forefront of the NIL era, turning themselves into a Big 12 champion and serious College Football Playoff contender.

Raiola would be as high-end a pickup as Texas Tech could find in the transfer portal.

Mahomes is quite involved with his former program, too. He could be right at the front lines of recruiting Raiola to come play for the Red Raiders.

One problem with all this, though: On3's Pete Nakos reports that Texas Tech isn't expected to go after Raiola.

Raiola was the No. 1 QB in his recruiting class, having originally committed to Georgia before flipping to Nebraska.

He played well enough with the Cornhuskers to still believe in his pedigree, as long as he can recover cleanly from the injury that ended his 2025 season prematurely.

What better place to pursue a greatness like that of Mahomes than at the very place Mahomes did it? Raiola has that choice in front of him now.
