Browns insider provides update on trade rumors surrounding Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders image

The Cleveland Browns' quarterback room has been one of the most interesting storylines dating back to the Summer.

Joe Flacco has been the starter through four games, with rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders serving as the second and third-string quarterbacks, respectively. While Flacco hasn't been great by any stretch of the imagination, head coach Kevin Stefanski has been reluctant to play his former Oregon Duck, with Gabriel's only game action coming in the fourth quarter of blowouts against the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions.

With both rookies seemingly not getting a look, trade speculation began to crop up surrounding the 2025 draft picks, but one insider shut those rumors down ahead of their Week 4 matchup in Detroit.

Mary Kay Cabot Shuts Down Browns QB Trade Rumors

Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot shut down any speculation surrounding the Browns possibly trading either of their young quarterbacks in one of her recent columns on Cleveland.com.

"...the Browns have no plans to part with either of their rookie QBs, and they’re not going anywhere," wrote Cabot.

It would make little to no sense for Cleveland to trade either one of their young signal-callers. Not only do they need the depth, but there's also no chance they would get more value than a third-round pick for Gabriel and a fifth-round pick for Sanders.

Flacco is 40 years old, and even if he doesn't get benched, there's always a possibility he goes down with an injury, and in that case, the Browns would certainly need both their former Oregon standout and Colorado Buffalo on the roster.
