Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin predicted to be on the move in latest rumors image

Lane Kiffin’s future is again overshadowing Ole Miss’ rise toward a potential College Football Playoff berth.

Despite the Rebels’ 10-1 record and a bye week before the Egg Bowl, speculation surrounding Kiffin’s next move has intensified as rumors link him to openings at Florida and LSU.

The latest came Thursday when ESPN analyst Josh Pate said on Get Up that he expects Kiffin to leave Oxford after the season.

“If I had to place my money right now, he’ll be somewhere other than Oxford, Mississippi, coaching next year,” Pate said

Multiple reports have indicated Kiffin’s family recently toured LSU’s facilities, with a similar visit planned to Florida. Meanwhile, Ole Miss administration is working on a long-term extension in hopes of keeping its coach in place for the foreseeable future.

The biggest question that remains is if Kiffin moves on to Baton Rouge or Gainesville, will he still coach in the College Football Playoff? Ole Miss has to get there first, but it's part of the speculation.

The Rebels return to action next week against Mississippi State.
