Ole Miss Rebels running back Kewan Lacy delivered one of the defining plays early in this year's Fiesta Bowl, bursting through the line and racing 73 yards for a touchdown.

The run marked Lacy’s 24th rushing touchdown of the season, an Ole Miss single-season record.

It also stood as the fifth-longest scoring play in CFP history and the longest since Jeremiyah Love ripped off a 98-yard touchdown for Notre Dame Fighting Irish against Indiana Hoosiers last year. Only Ezekiel Elliott (85 yards), Jaydon Blue (77) and Sony Michel (75) slot between Love and Lacy.

A transfer from Missouri, Lacy entered the postseason with 1,464 rushing yards on 295 carries, plus 28 receptions for 173 yards. His 24 rushing scores tie Tim Tebow and Tre Mason, making Lacy just the fifth player in SEC history to reach that total.

Through two CFP games, Lacy has 185 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries. He rebounded from a first-half fumble against Georgia Bulldogs by scoring twice in the fourth quarter.

If he delivers again against the Miami Hurricanes, Ole Miss will remain firmly in contention for its first national championship since 1962.
