Trinidad Chambliss was the story of Ole Miss’ offense during the regular season, but few running backs in the nation have been more valuable in 2025 than Kewan Lacy.
The Missouri transfer entered the College Football Playoff with 20 touchdowns and more than 1,400 scrimmage yards on the season, setting the tone for an offense run by Lane Kiffin.
With a comfortable lead against Tulane on Saturday, however, the Rebels saw Lacy and Chambliss both walk off the field gingerly within minutes of one another.

Kewan Lacy injury updates
Lacy was slow to get up after a play in the second quarter on Saturday and appeared to be holding his left arm as he walked to the sideline.
Lacy entered the medical tent and stayed inside for about five minutes before returning to the sideline with his helmet, WLOX's Matt DeGregorio reported.

While coach Pete Golding couldn't get into specifics on Lacy's status as the Rebels went to halftime, he told the TNT broadcast that the injuries to Lacy and Chambliss were "obviously not ideal" and said his team has to have a "next man up" mentality.
Lacy was able to get back on the field for the start of the second half after declining to wear a shoulder harness.
As the second half played out, however, Lacy continued to favor his left shoulder and returned to the locker room after walking off the field in obvious pain after a carry.
What happened to Kewan Lacy?
Lacy appeared to suffer an upper-body injury after being tackled following a catch late in the second quarter against Tulane.
While Ole Miss didn't reveal any specifics about Lacy's injury, he appeared to be holding his left arm as he came off the field. Lacy was dealing with a shoulder issue, according to the TNT broadcast, but it didn't keep him off the field to start the second half.
By the end of the third quarter, however, Lacy walked back to the locker room in obvious pain as he tried to manage shoulder discomfort.

Who is Kewan Lacy's backup?
Logan Diggs is Ole Miss' leading rusher outside of Lacy and Chambliss, but Lacy has been a workhorse for the Rebels throughout 2025, entering Saturday with 258 carries to Diggs' 25.
Diggs went to halftime on Saturday with two touches, including an 11-yard reception from Chambliss.
