An Ohio State student was on top of the world while participating in Pat McAfee's kicking contest on ESPN's College GameDay.
Logan, a business finance major, split the uprights on his first try to win a $250,000 prize. He was mobbed by mascots and McAfee in a wild celebration. To make it all come together in a hilarious way, Peter, Kirk Herbstreit's golden retriever took a dump before the attempt and immediately got trampled in the celebration. ESPN's College GameDay is in Columbus for the matchup between No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Ohio State. The kickoff time was adjusted to 12:14 p.m. ET. This decision was made to help ease operations beforehand. "Ohio State is allowing time for fans to get settled after Lee Corso's final headgear pick," a source with knowledge of the situation told Sporting News.
For nearly 40 years, Corso has shown his true colors by unpredictability, never more famous than during his “headgear” picks. Since debuting the segment in 1996, he has donned helmets, mascots, and costumes 430 times, allowing for one of college football’s most beloved traditions.
Texas vs. Ohio State will broadcast nationally on FOX. Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt will call the game from the booth at Ohio Stadium, with Jenny Taft reporting from the sidelines.
